The next day we went for a tour of the houses of parliament, which was really, dare I say surprisingly, interesting. The whole place is packed with portraits and murals and statues of past monarchs and ministers, it's amazing how much history has gone on that I haven't ever heard of. Since I've been in Europe I've been enjoying learning more about history - what better way to do it than to walk the halls yourself. We got to see both houses, as the pollies were on their summer break, the Queen's shiny throne, Churchill's statue with it's shiny good luck foot, and the great hall where the royalty and a few priveledged others lie in state before their funerals. Above is King Richard on his horsey.
